I build mobile apps and exam platforms from Lagos.

I’m John Osakwe, an independent developer in Lagos, and Etest Tech Hub is my studio. I’ve built apps and websites for clients since 2015. Etest JAMB CBT, FizzFree and Pawlarm are my own apps, live on the App Store, and the first two are on Google Play too. I built and published all three, and each has a write up of how.

Lagos, Nigeria. I take clients in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and Nigeria, and I set call times in your time zone.

Sites and platforms I build and manage

    • eliteplanners.ngMy own site: Nigerian event planning guides, price guides and a cost calculator.eliteplanners.ng SEO case study
    • Manna AIA weekly meal planner for iOS and Android. I built both apps and I look after updates and maintenance.Manna AI case study
    • EmailSparkA project I founded. It is live.
    • ESSMRTA platform I manage for the Edo State government.
    • SNDIA platform I manage for a Nigerian government official.

    How a project runs

    1. 01

      Discover

We talk about the problem, the users and the budget. I tell you what I’d build first and what I’d leave out.

    2. 02

      Design

I draw the screens or pages, and you react to them before I write any code.

    3. 03

      Build

I write the app or site and send you working builds along the way, so you’re testing the real thing.

    4. 04

      Launch

For an app, I prepare the App Store and Google Play listings, submit the builds and answer the reviewers if they have questions. For a website, I put it live on your domain.

    5. 05

      Support

After launch I fix what breaks. What’s covered, and for how long, is written in your quote.

    How I build

Tools I’ve shipped with, and nothing I’ve only read about.

    • React
    • React Native
    • Expo
    • TypeScript
    • Vite
    • Capacitor
    • Tailwind CSS
    • Firebase
    • Supabase
    • RevenueCat
    • AdMob

    Python, for automation work.

Why I publish my own apps

Screens from three apps I published.

I started building apps and websites for clients in 2015. Since June 2026 I’ve also released five apps of my own on the App Store, and three of them are written up on this site.

Publishing them put me through everything your app would face: setting up subscriptions in RevenueCat, writing store listings, preparing screenshots and privacy pages, and answering App Store review questions. When you hire me for an app, I’ve done each of those steps recently, on my own products.

It also changes how I advise you. I’ll tell you plainly when an idea is too big for a first version, because I’ve cut features from my own apps to get them out.

    Games in development

Three games are in development: Bus Spin, Cipher Isles and Relicfall.

A school CBT platform is a question bank, a timer, a scoring rule and a plan for the day the network fails. Here is how I would build one, and what Etest JAMB CBT taught me.
